The Experience

While helping with household tasks such as cleaning and ironing, you can share your culture and teach me your language for about 1 hour a day. In return, you can experience local life and discover Turkish culture. İzmir, the ancient city of Ephesus, and many beautiful places nearby can be explored on your days off. Think of this less as a job and more as a cultural exchange and shared experience.

Kemal is a very nice and kind person. He always checks that everything is okay and makes sure you have everything you need. He works at the beach every day and puts a lot of effort into making the experience more enjoyable and fun for everyone. His positive attitude, helpful nature, and friendly personality make a big difference. He is always ready to help, and you can see that he truly cares about people having a great time. Thank you, Kemal, for your hard work and for making each day at the beach more special.

Unfortunately, I decided to leave the experience early because my understanding of the volunteer role and the host's expectations were quite different. I appreciated the chance to spend time by the sea and learn more about the activities in the shop. However, we had ongoing disagreements about working hours, responsibilities and communication. Even though we talked about these several times, we couldn't find a common understanding.I would recommend future volunteers clarify working hours, responsibilities and days off in detail before arrival to make sure both sides have the same expectations.

You stayed for 2 days and left in the evening. We only talked for a total of 1-2 hours, maybe 15-20 minutes at home. Even then, we talked about how you didn't even wash your own dishes in a job that was supposed to be easy,.You ate from the buffet at the hotel, and I providen dinner at home.. You changed your dates twice before you arrived, and you asked for time off the day after your first day of work. you didn't even do that simple task. Businesses absolutely shouldn't host people like you.
