Such a lovely experience! Rodrigo, Bruna, and the girls were so lovely to work with and I loved my time in Origem! It was such a culturally immersive experience in the heart of the historic quarter of Salvador, and defintely encouraged to work harder on my Portuguese language study. I loved the experience! It was great meeting Sueli, Bruna, and Rodrigo, and I'll miss Sueli's wonderful lunches very much 🥹❤️ The work is relaxed and the environment makes us feel totally at ease. The only downside is the noise in Pelourinho, which is a very busy area. Overall, it was a very good experience and I'll treasure it!

The volunteering at the origin hostel was excellent, the hosts Rodrigo and Bruna are always helpful and make us feel quite at ease. They provide excellent breakfast and lunch, and I stayed in a good shared room with other volunteers. The tasks are very easy, basically we stay at the reception in the night or late shift, so we always have the morning free to explore the historic center or the surroundings. Salvador and especially Pelourinho always have quite a lot to do every day, so if you enjoy activities and immersion in the local culture this is the right place. Thank you!

First of all, I would like to thank Rodrigo and Bruna for the chance to get to know Salvador for the first time while staying in such a well-located place, and I’ll already share a tip: for those who enjoy music, it’s the perfect place! I was able to balance the volunteer shifts with my work. Thinking about helping day to day, I think it would be very practical to leave a list of activities posted somewhere visible for the volunteers, since there are always people from other countries and everyone has a different habit of coexisting (clean the room, take out the trash, clean the kitchen after using it, etc).

My experience at the hostel was really cool! I was really immersed in Pelourinho, which is a very beautiful and quite cultural neighborhood! Rodrigo and Bruna are two very nice, calm and fun people! A lot of music on the street, noises, good people and culture there 👍

Hi! I want to thank you very much for the warm reception. Bruna, Sueli (staff). Pedro Mari and Paola, volunteers with whom we shared the stay there. The guesthouse is beautiful, there is only a common space; sometimes it can get a bit disruptive but it also makes you go out and get to know the neighborhood which is very beautiful. I stayed a short time because there is music all day and it can be a little hard to rest. But staying in Pelô is a unique experience. I will definitely return. Once again thank you for the warm reception and for being my first home in Salvador!
