Even if i tell you everything, it will never gets close as the experience really is. I have no worlds to describe the lovely time that I had with those children. They are lovely, beautiful and innocents little creatures living happly even with hard life that they have. I miss them every single day and I wish I have the chance to see them again. I love every single little angel that I have meet in Mwanza and I hope people keep going there to help them and giving them the chance or a fresh energy to do not give up studying.
It was an incredible experience and just 2hat we were looking for. William and 5hr local staff were always on top of everything making sure we were happy and our needs covered. Kids are wonderful and you won't get tired of playing with them although teaching everyday without speaking the local language can be hard sometimes, it's good if you prepare some precious games for each day. I recommend this opportunity and please feel free to contact me for more details,! It's a small village in the middle of the road to Mwanza, so get ready for living like a local! Best immersion into the culture!
My stancy in Sawil Pax Upendo Academy was wonderfull. William and his people treated me as a family member.
Sawil is a very nice project that is growing a lot and its nice to see the hugh effort they do to improve the life ot those 94 children.
I helped them editing videos to promote their work at social networks. I hope more people could come to Mwanza to do the same, this project has to be known arround the world.
Asante Sana, William. See you soon.
I would definitely recommend anyone to volunteering here! You can learn so much from this experience, from the commitment of William and all of the staff, the dedication of the teachers, the daily life in the community, the loving and welcoming family, the adorable kids, and the amazing work they do to empower women and promote leadership. They are always open to suggestions or any kind of help you can bring. The village is a lovely place, very safe and full of nature. Don't hesitate too much, if you have the time I think there is no better way to use it!
A life changing experience, in every possible way. William is so generous and kind and will do all possibles and impossibles to make your trip unforgettable. I couldn't wish for a better experience, even though it is so different from life back home (that's all the fun). The kids from school are so well educated and grateful and spending time with them will make you change your perspectives in life. In the meantime you can explore this amazing country, from beautiful beaches in Zanzibar to an amazing safari in Serengueti National Park. Couldn't wish for a better time here.
