My stay at Joao's was one of the best volunteering experience I had. Only when I arrived, I fell in love with the place. It's really an oasis of nature in the city, full of birds, insects and plants.
I had my own space in the house. It's a great place to relax and enjoy nature. You also have the opportunity to discover a nice city with its facilities. Curitiba is really nice, full of parks and as a tourist there are some places to visit.
The work at Joao's was very interesting. I learnt how to grow plants and how to make compost. His mom's food is amazing and I already miss it so much !

I really enjoyed my time at mao na terra, João and his mother are great people, the food was amazing. Curitiba is a fun city with many things to do! I planted trees, and learned a lot about the environment. You should stop by.

I had a fun experience in Mao na Terra; the lush urban garden is in a perfect location to enjoy the culture of Curitiba andit's other brethtaking nature spots. The tasks were great; I could choose to do what I did best with liberty (<3!); I got lucky and dabbled in the garden as well as painting 2 murals exterior walls. All is welcome there. I met some interesting people, learned about permaulture, ate some Dona Eliane's great food, dug a hole, partied, took home some house-made natural mosquito repellent and colourful memories. Hoping to return some day. Thanks Mao na Terra!
