I was completely taken by the hostel. It is such a beautifully unique place and attracts such wonderful people. Pat and Alice were such wonderful bosses. The community feeling on the island is palpable and indescribable. To future volunteers, I'd recommend having a car or being prepared to hitchhike. Otherwise the island can feel a bit isolating (but you get over the feeling pretty quickly).

I had a great time at the hostel. The atmosphere is peaceful and if you want to reconnect with nature, this is the right place. It was my first time as volunteer and i can say that all the staff has been very patient, kind, and friendly with me from the first day. It will definitely be an experience I'll never forget!

I will never forget my stay here, I'm so glad my first worldpackers experience was with Pat and Alice both lovely people that will make you feel very welcome. The weather might be a bit harsh from time to time but it's more than worth it, the work load is very balanced never felt like I was pressured and still had plenty of time for myself. I met wonderful people both local and other volunteer I really recommend this place if you want to discover Ireland and have a true moment of peace. Thanks again for everything :)

Pat and Alice were absolutely lovely and have created such a good environment for their volunteers. The work is very flexible and laid back, and Achill Island is such a beautiful place to explore. It is a great place to meet great people - whether it's other volunteers, staff or locals.
