The Experience

We are an organic farm located a few meters off the sea. We work with biodynamic and permaculture techniques in various aspects. The farm has free-ranging chickens, ducks foraging on the beach, bees, horse, dog, a good handful of cats. Our garden on the hilltop is a bountiful vegetable and medicinal herbs production system with cultures of raised hügelbeds. Currently building a roundwood strawbale house. We try to have fun and work hard, thanks!

Staying at the farm was such a great experience! Mario was an excellent host, making sure we were always well fed and helping me learn Spanish. The house is located right on the coast and surrounded by hills and trees, making it an incredible place to see nature. A bus here can take you to other cities nearby, and the neighbors of the farm are very friendly as well. I would definitely recommend to anyone who likes cats (they have 4), wants to see Chile's nature, and immerse into the local culture and language!

Mario is a very friendly person. It was very hard to finish a conversation with him because every time I learned so much about the history of Chile, Mapuches and of course Spanish language. The work is not hard but there are a lots of things to do so keep in mind that you will go to work but at night you will have a funny moments with volunteers in comun area. We went a Osorno volcano at Sunday this is very close.

Mario is an incredible person, i learned a lot and had a tons of fun! The farm is far from the city, so if you are looking for some peace and quiet, you found the place!! My tip is to not bring a lot of clothes, because Mario have enought for the volunteers, and there isnt a lot of space, if you bring a lot. Another thing is that its gonna get dirty, so its better to use the volunteers ones. Thank you for everything Mario!!
