The work was three hours a day, from 7 to 10am preparing breakfast and cleaning the hostel common areas. You will have one day off per week. It comes with breakfast and bed, the room is dormitory room in the basement. Omar and Ellie was very kind, will have slight difficulty communicating if your spanish is not very good, but not a big problem! I enjoyed day trip to Laguna 69 which was unforgettable experience even though my stomach was very unwell and had headaches for the next two days😅 Im very grateful for this opportunity.

I had a good time in my two weeks at the hostel. The tasks were exactly like described (making breakfast, cleaning, making the beds) and the hours were respected as well. Most days you would only learn in the evening when you would work the next day (either morning or afternoon), that is something i would have loved to know a couple of days in advance. Other than that, Omar, his daughter and also the guests are very nice and i got to know many great travelers. What is cool also, is that you can use equipment like the hostel gear for free.

Omar is a lovely host and the work is easy, cleaning, serving breakfast and dressing beds in the morning, afternoons are mostly off. The hostel itself is missing a hang out area at the moment, but Omar is working on a roof terrasse and a big kitchen, which is gonna make the hostel a beautiful place to stay. There are a lot of things to do in Huaraz, be aware of the altitude though!
