The Experience

The nursery is launched with the main objective of raising bilingual kids; Thai and English. So all the volunteers need to do is to speak with the kids in English all the time in any activities we do with them, probably reading a book, playing toys or games, having a walk outside playing and seeing beautiful nature. However, the volunteers do not need to worry about their English proficiency, just basic English communication skill is enough.

My time at Ansari's and Maria's the school was unforgettable. The kids are amazing, loving, polite and curious about everything. They are very intellingent and make teaching easy and playing very fun. I felt really connected to people in the Khuan Don District, the hosts will make sure you are having the best time, eating the best food possible, trying different dishes, exploring the astonishing nature and mountains that surround the village and having a good relation with the kids. It you look for a quiet, calm and rewarding place and where you can really live a local life, this is it

I am unable to add my full review here with not having enough space to do it justice! If you're interested in this experience, use the following link to understand deeper the incredible people and places waiting for you at the school: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1f02CgDKek7EWzycH9I38_qXpLd9wDeN8QFihN0nhPnY/edit?usp=sharing In brief, I intended to stay for one month in April, but ended up staying for 4 months until August because I just didn't want to leave - and that really says it all! Do yourself a favour by taking part in this incredible experience. Thank you all!

My three weeks volunteering at Ansari's school and the school were truly heartwarming! I taught English to older childer (7 to 12), who were eager and full of energy, and spent time with the younger kids (1 to 5) at the school! The sweet, little kids spoke English surprisingly well, they learn everyday about religion, nature and English! Ansari and Maria were wonderful hosts, taking me to markets and inviting me to have breakfast or lunch several times! Their kindness made the experience even more special. I recommend this experience 100%! Thank you Ansari for giving me the opportunity to join:)

Overall this experience was wonderful. Ansari is the kindest, most patient, and accommodating person I have ever met and it was a pleasure to meet him and his wife and family. The children I taught were very respectful, funny, happy, and eager to learn and get involved. I felt like I was truly making a difference and it was very rewarding to help them to improve their English, and to generally spend time with them. I am very grateful for this opportunity.

It was an unforgettable experience in my life. The kids were shy on the first day, but we became close quickly. I was surprised that they spoke English well enough to communicate. And they are so lovely. We had time to play outside every day. The natural scenery is amazing, and the kids know how to mingle in nature. Ansari and his family are so nice. They always provided me with delicious, plentiful food and took me anywhere. The room is enough to stay alone. Thank you Ansari and his family and the villagers for always being kind to me. I highly recommend this activity.
