I had a great time staying with Dave! He supplied wonderful meals, was enjoyable to chat with, and the work was not too intensive. As long as you stay focused, organized, and work hard, you should have no trouble during your stay. Dave does his best to get you acclimated to Oxford and was open to showing me around town by bike or on foot. Highly reccomend if you're looking for an authentic English experience and if you like lots of tea!

If I'm honest, I didn't always understand Dave – maybe because of my English. He often acted like a father, asking where I was going, when I'd be back, etc. It's a good experience if it's your first time away from home: he provides everything (food, accommodation, a structured routine). But definitely have a backup plan in case you don't feel comfortable. I was confirmed for a month but he later suggested I stay only two weeks. I agreed because we didn't click. Still, I'm grateful for his help and for showing me Oxford – he knows the city like the back of his hand.

I wrote clearly in my intro you read before applying here that this is not a hostel. Therefore if you felt uncomfortable with the services and environment then you should not have applied in the first place. It was clear this environment was not suitable for you so we agreed to change your stay from 4 to 2 weeks. I did offer you the additional freedom to let you stay at my 2nd house afternoons -You had access to the kitchen there, but you burned 2 oven pans, and didn't offer to replace them

My experience with Dave was short but very very nice, his home it's one of those places that just feels right. He's kind and clear and if I ever get to be in Oxford again I would not hesitate in staying at his place if available. I 100% suggest travelers to meet him.

It was an interesting experience! Dave is really funny and made me laugh constantly! I've grown to love our daily routine! He's also an amazing cook! He lives just minutes away from the center by bus. Or you take a nice thirty minute stroll along the Thames River right into the city! Great experience!

He wrote to me before and after my stay in Oxford, so he is involved the work tasks were easy, with hours always respected. My English wasn't the best, but we had some great conversations, he had so many stories to tell. I cooked something for him and he cooked a fantastic Lasagna! I stayed 13 days, sleeping 3 nights in a private room and 10 in the same room as Dave, with two single beds side by side. Since it was winter break, I only met one Italian student briefly.
