The Experience

I am looking for a volunteer to help with cleaning, gardening, some house repairs (assisting me) in my 2 student houses in Oxford. The work is normally 5 mornings per week - Mon Tues Wed Thur Fri. 9.15 - 1.15 In return, I offer Accommodation (part-shared and part-single) and full meals 7 days, and my help with your English -and guidance for travel in UK. Weekends are your free time and London is only1.5 hours by express bus every 20min (:

Dave is very kind, always attentive and will help you practice your English, recommend places to go in Oxford and the UK. The work is easy and the hours are excellent. Tips: if you want to practice English there are some schools/churches that teach English for free. Oxford is a student city so it is easy to meet new people.

I spent a month volunteering for Dave, once you get used to the routine and the new environment you start to realize he is a generous and kind man, and how he is always trying to be fair with the amount and the kind of work you have to do. If you make an effort to make everyone's experience easier and placid, he will definitely do the same for you. It's been an awesome experience, Oxford is a beautiful city filled with history, art, gardens, meadows and walks by the Tames; and Dave has always been up to give some advice on what to visit or how to get somewhere.

Dave It's a good a person, who before you start the trip, he is helpping you to know wich transports you have to take to arrive at his home, and he is guiding you the entire journey. And the most important for me, is that he intent that your english improve, and he is helping you all time because you improve your english.

I stayed here for two weeks, he's a good man. The first few days take some getting used to, but then everything went well. He has two houses and one is closer to the city center, which is perfect if you like going out a lot. The work wasn't too heavy and was always fairly easy. Dinner was early compared to what I'm used to. In general it was a positive experience that allowed me to exit from my comfort zone and improve my english speaking skills. Tips: if you want to meet people, download Meetup. For free English lessons go to Oxford English center when you arrive. Best nightlife Friday night
