The Experience
Help in the preparation of food for volunteers and guests, kitchen cleaning, help in the creation of new dishes, customer service, and help in the cafeteria and restaurant when required.

This was my first time volunteering and I can't regret anything! It's an awesome and peaceful place where you can learn a lot about local communities, customs and gastronomy. The owners and staff are extremely welcoming and kind, it really feels like home. I cannot be more grateful for this experience!

I loved my time at Urku Wasi. I immediately felt accepted and it felt like family. They were so supportive of my art, and I had such a great time exploring the local area. The community is super tight knit, and I feel that I learned so much and was continually welcomed. I hope to come back. The beauty of the area and the animals are just a plus on the amazing and supportive environment that is Urku Wasi.

Los horarios dicen ser “flexibles”, es decir no existen. Nunca tuve tiempo para mis actividades de nómada digital (salvo 2h), nunca tuve tiempo de ocio mucho menos de dispersión. Les aconsejo revisar con el anfitrión lo pactado en Worldpackers y sobre todo establecer un horario, el hecho de que sea flexible no significa que estes disponible todo el tiempo. Lo mejor del voluntariado fue el cuidado de los animales, son maravillosos, es todo un gusto compartir con ellos. No se equivoquen, el anfitrión y su hijo también son buenas personas, pero somos humanos y a veces erramos.

La convivencia con la naturaleza y la cultura local te dan una enseñanza sobre el cuidado y la preservación de la naturaleza, los anfitriones son maravillosos te hacen sentir parte de la familia desde el día 1 el hambiente de trabajo y la relación que se forma de equipo es inigualable.

En Urku Wasi me sentí como en familia, todos tienen una bellísima energía, el lugar tiene una de las mejores vistas del mundo, la comida fue deliciosa, conecte con la comunidad y la gente local, participe en muchas increíbles, y hice mucho amigos que recordaré siempre, para ser mi primera experiencia fue de lo mejor recomiendo 100% este voluntariado .
