The Experience

Come discover Playa Del Carmen as a volunteer at our hostel in exchange for lodging and breakfast. We need responsible guys (male gender) to look after and secure the reception area from 11 PM to 7 AM - 4 days a week and 4 days off. The task consists of opening for guests, handing keys to whoever needs them, and staying at the reception to have a presence. Contact us ;-)

I started this volunteer experience feeling uncertain because it was my first time as a volunteer. Fortunately, everything went very well. From the day I arrived, I felt comfortable and welcomed by everyone. The girls and the boys were very respectful and supportive. They helped me with tasks that I didn't know how to do at first. One of my main goals was to continue practicing my English, and I achieved it. I'm grateful for the trust they gave me to perform different responsibilities. I truly felt great during this first volunteering experience, and I would definitely recommend it.

People were nice, the room was a shared room between 12 of us. 4 beds were not occupied by volunteers, so we had guests in our room. Not much place to leave your stuff. And a small locker that you can put a lock. But they were only 8 lockers and 12 of us... There is no cleaning crew, just volunteers, and the amount of work was much more than I was expecting. So, I informed the staff that I was leaving after 1 week, and they asked me to stay 1 more week for them to find someone else.

My experience at the hostel was good! all the staff were really nice and friendly. the hours were good and the hostel is really close to the beach. the bad thing was that the hostel doesn't have any activities and not many young people, but in general i had a great time there!
