Hello folks! We are a super friendly backpacker hostel located in a gorgeous coastal town in Western Scotland. Oban, our home, is known as the seafood capital of Scotland and is situated just a short ferry ride away from the idyllic Hebridean Isles. We're looking for help with daily tasks a few hours a week. This was the perfect first volunteering experience! Freya and Tes made me feel so welcome from the second I arrived. The work was really easy and we often finished earlier which was very nice. The hostel has a very cozy atmosphere which makes you feel at home right away! We also had a family dinner night which was really lovely. the hostel is a really beautiful place, right by the seaside and with easy access to the surrounding islands. I can totally recommend this place and would love to come back!

The hostel, oh the hostel! magic portal to the islands and the stunning west coast of Scotland, you will be forever in my heart. This was my second time here, and I am so grateful that my journey took me here. The hostel is so cozy, the town is really lovely; working hours are respected and tasks are not bad at all. Freya and Tess are warm hearted people who know how to make you feel at home. I also met some incredible people at the hostel and enjoy chatting with the friendly locals... If you come to Scotland, don't overlook this place, you will be surprised :)

I can only echo the praise of the other volunteers. The hostel is cozy, and both Freya and Tess da great job of making your stay in the hostel as wonderful as possible. You sleep well, the showers are hot, and breakfast is filling. As for the day-to-day work: Since the hostel is cleaned daily, everything is already clean, and you basically just have to wipe down surfaces and empty the trash cans. Once a week, you're assigned to the night shift. You always have a night shift after your day off, which means you can sleep somewhere else for two nights.

The hostel was a very welcoming experience. The hostel has a home like vibe and great opportunities to talk and engage with other travellers and volunteers. The work was easy and never exceeded expected hours. Gives you lots of time to explore the hostel and surrounding areas. Tess and Freya make you feel welcome and the family dinners were the best.

My time at the hostel was fantastic! This was my first time volunteering and everyone there was so welcoming and kind and accommodating. Freya and Tess were absolutely lovely and fun, and all the volunteers and guests I met were really friendly and welcoming. The hostel itself is clean and a great environment. Work was not too hard and hours were good. I had a great time in the hostel and the surrounding islands-the location is great for exploring scotland! I would 100% recommend.
