The Experience

We are in build phase but you don't have to be an experienced builder. We have professionals on staff just need more people to help :) We build, we paint, we decorate, and make this place the most amazing place on Earth that you can all HOME and keep coming back to :) The right people will have a lot of energy but can also be calm. We usually work in groups with music and it is a lot of fun!

Anders and Shama have created a magical space for all to share their gifts and learn from each other. The emphasis on building a strong, cohesive community made Heartland feel like a home from the start! I learned about sustainable, communal living and was able to nature and myself on a deeper level. Heartland is a truly special place for all to achieve personal growth and work towards a greater vision!

Heartland is incredibly inspiring. This could very well be the framework for a self sustainable community, one that respects work/life balance and values individual contributions. I would love to visit again!

I absolutely loved my experience in Heartland, traveling through the land of my heart :). Its an experience I'll always remember as a place full of so much love that it just sprung me into doing more of what I love, and fulfilling my purpose as a creator on this beautiful earth. I feel the whole experience helped me connect to the part of myself that is mother earth and I am so grateful towards Shama and Anders, Carly, and just everyone I met there that taught me new things and helped me feel at home. I feel I have made a new family in heartland that I plan on visiting every summer :).

I couldn't recommend Heartland collective more! This is a wonderful place to come and connect with a supportive and inclusive community of residents and travelers from around the world, build things, learn and help in the permaculture garden, help with events and hospitality, and have so much more free time than work time. The host and other volunteers are amazing communicators and you always know what kind of day you have ahead. The area is beautiful and there are lots of excursions to go out on as well. What they're building is truly amazing and it was amazing to be a part of it.

Our time in Heartland is something I’ll never forget. From the beginning everybody was so welcoming and open. Anders creates a fun work atmosphere where everyday is something different, improving your skills and learning something new as well. You are valued and respected and in a couple days you become more than a volunteer. You are part of the community in day one. I am more than grateful for Shama and all that she taught me about myself and the study sessions at her cabin. At the end, it was the best decision we made as our first Worldpackers experience.
