The Experience
Your duty is cleaning all throughout the hostel, including onsen, bathrooms, showers, guest rooms, kitchen, lounge, and other common spaces. We give you free accommodation in a mixed dormitory and daily indoor/outdoor onsen bathing. Our team is a mix of Japanese and travelers from other countries, so it is a great oppotunity to experience Japanese culture and make friends from all over the world :) (Working holiday visa holders only)

This was a great first workaway experience! The staff are very friendly and helpful and I enjoyed chatting with them all. I felt really welcomed and part of the team right from the start. The hours are very fair and you are given clear instructions on what to do. Usually we finished early. The common area is really spacious and comfortable and it was easy to talk to other travelles there. The kitchen is clean and organised and the dorms are small which is nice. I enjoyed using the onsen. There is not much to do in town but there are a lot of buses to other places and nearby walking trails.

Ks'the hostel is truly a beautiful place ! I enjoy all my time staying because the team really take care of me and I really appreciate all :). The work is easy and generally 3hr day, just cleaning things. If you speak Japanese a little and want to improve, you can, just try to always speak Japanese :). I go to the Onsen every day so it's not a bad point 😁 You can meet a lot of people of all over the world ! You need to know hakone is a little city so for enjoying your stay I think it's better like wild nature and hiking. Thanks ks'the hostel.

The hostel is my first experience with Worldpackers and I couldn't have wished for a better first experience. The place is sublime, soothing and calm, I've met so many wonderful people and the staff are so friendly and nice. I'll never forget the time I spent here and I'll leave Hakone with lots of good memories. I really recommend this place ! Thank you to the team for your kindness and warm welcome :)

I miss my life in the hostel! About work : working system were very organized so can learn easliy and they always gave me the right level of work. About staff : They are friendly and always try to accommodate me. About hotel : I liked the onsen. And it was convenient to able to use the storage space for the staff. There is a vegetable store nearby and beautiful mountain too.
