I could not recommend volunteering at CBO more. I cannot put into words how much I learned from this place and the people I met here. Harry is both a brilliant manager and a dependable friend to everyone, I felt comfortable coming to him with anything. The hostel is welcoming, in a gorgeous location only 50 minutes from London, and truly felt like a home to me. Like most of the volunteers I met, I extended my stay to 4.5 months. I have nothing but good things to say.

It was one of the best decisions of my life. I immersed myself in volunteering because I wanted to improve my English, both comprehension and speaking, as well as my confidence, in a more dynamic way. However, I ended up gaining much more than that. I made many friends, experienced invaluable moments, and grew a lot as a person. Each person is a lesson, not just in English, but for lifeβfrom Harry who is a very good leader, to the more complicated guests. I definitely recommend the hostel for its atmosphere, the city for its charm, and the country for its culture. NOW I LOVE CENTRALBACKPACKERS

I had a fantastic time at the hostel! I extended my stay twice and was very sad to leave. It's a very inclusive, positive environment and the shift patterns are very flexible so you can make the most of your time in Oxford. There are high expectations for your quality of work, but that all contributes to the overall high standards of the hostel, and it is easily the best-run hostel I've worked at. I wish I could have stayed longer but all good things must come to an end, and I can't recommend it enough!

The hostel has been the most fun experience of my life. I had met lifelong friends and was honestly so hard to leave them. Harry is a formidable leader and an even better boss. He balances the role of being a friend and a good manager perfectly and is always a good time to be around. Will most definitely be back in Oxford for the sole reason of visiting the hostel. I could not recommend this place more to anyone interested in volunteering. The hours are great The people are better, and if you are like me, a terrible cook, Harry will teach you.
