Kingkool was my first experience as a volunteer and it was amazing!
The atmosphere in the hostel is fantastic. From the first moment you feel welcomed, both by the rest of the volunteers and by the hostel staff.

The city is wonderful and there are always things to do in the company of other volunteers.
As for work, we have to clean the hostel and the hotel next door. Sometimes the job can be demanding. But all the volunteers help each other, which makes everything easier.

I would certainly repeat the experience!

My trip to Kingkool will be one to remember. The atmosphere was friendly and inviting. I have made lifelong friends with many of my hostel mates. It’s really natural to become close with your fellow volunteers.

As for the work, it’s definitely demanding. They are quite particular about how they clean their hostel, but I can respect it. they may make you go back over some of your work, but it’s no big deal. Sometimes, we would finish at 2:30 - other times, 4:30. it really depends on the day and how much work needs to be done.

Overall, i’m grateful for the experience that they provided me.

Jan and the team were very welcoming. The hostel is really nice and ideally located to visit the western part of the Netherlands. I definitely recommend this experience. Thank you Kingkool!

Volunteering is not just about lending a helping hand. It is also about enriching your life with new experiences, meeting new people and having a sense of fulfillment.

I was able to experience the volunteer program in a way that I never would have seen if I hadn't volunteered at KingKool. I was able to make connections with people who had also volunteered, and they were all very welcoming and eager to help me out with anything I needed.

KingKool was a great experience that I am glad I had the opportunity to partake in!

I’m so happy for choosing KingKool as my first hostel/WorldPackers experience! I’ve made life long friends, traveled to neighboring cities, and learned new languages all while having an amazing time. The work is ok, it usually ends around 3pm and then you have the whole rest of the day to explore or relax in there seating area while reading a book. There’s a movie theater, pool table, chess table, board games and card games, and a seating area outside.

I stayed at KingKool for one month and had a great experience! I got to know The Hague city very well and made so many international friends, both volunteers and guests. While the work isn’t easy, the management team and other volunteers are always available to help you and answer any questions you may have. I’m so grateful for everyone I met, the memories I’ve made, and what I learned through this experience. I would recommend KingKool to anyone considering volunteering in a hostel environment!

I am very happy that I chose KingKool as my first experience with worldpackers. I can‘t even begin to describe how amazing my time here has been. The staff, as well as the other volunteers have been extremely welcoming from day one and I feel like I made lifelong friends while staying here. The work can be hard at times but we all help each other out. It feels like a big family and I would definitely recommend this experience to everyone. The hostel is right in the city center and there is always something going on, even if it‘s just drinking a beer at the hostel with the others.

I was very disappointed with my experience here. Here's why : -cold reception, no information about the hostel, activities of the city or even for the daily life here. You have to fend for yourself when you arrive.
- The volunteers literally sleep in a cellar with a small window that does not open. It is dark during the entire day in the room and the dormitory of 8 cannot be ventilated.
- the hostel managers don't organize anything for the volunteers. No event or friendly moment is planned, the managers don't care about the experience offered, they just want to clean their hostels for free.
