The Experience

We are looking for a volunteer to assist our already awesome team with breakfast service, helping to top up our breakfast buffet (chopping some fruit, topping up cereal etc) and clearing after breakfast is finished. All of our staff party hard when they aren't working so the position is perfect for a social person that likes the occasional drink.

This was my first experience and I couldn't have chosen a better one! I did the Social Media for the hostel and i had a lot of freedom to get creative with the content and I could do my own schedule. All the volunteers were amazing and even tho I was not that close with the permanent staff they were all really nice and helped us every time we needed something. We had our own area with our bedroom, the kitchen and a little backyard. Besides that, Bruges is a beautiful city and the hostel is the best the hostel to hang out

I've had my first volunteering experience at the hostel and thoroughly enjoyed it! The agreed working times and schedules were respected and gave enough free time to explore Bruges and other city's. The work was easy to learn and there was always someone there to ask for help. A little gardenspace and a kitchen especially for the volunteers where great places to socialize. I loved the hostel and the different theme nights and had great nights there. But what made my time especially wonderful where the other volunteers, everyone was outgoing, positive and some of the kindest people I've ever met!

I had a great time at the hostel! It's a very sociable place and I had so much fun with the other volunteers. We had our own kitchen and little outside area which was nice. The work was easy and working the hostel shifts was perfect as you have the whole day to yourself. Also Bruges is such a beautiful city!

It was my first volunteering and it has been an incredible experience. At first the room had no light and was a little messy but after a few days they fixed the light problem and the volunteers cleaned up the room and it became a more welcoming place. We didn't have any problems with Steve and you could always talk to him if you needed anything. The staff that worked in the morning and Mateo were wonderful, they always made you start the day better . We didn't have much contact with the rest of the staff. The tasks and schedules were respected and we could also have breakfast there.

It was my first experience volunteering and it was definitely amazing. I would definitely recommend it. The staff working at mornings and Mateo were very nice, and the volunteers I met were so lovely. You have a room where all the volunteers stay, and an area with a kitchen and a yard. At first there was no light in the room but we told Steve and within days they fixed it. You also get free breakfast, and they give a 50€ pot of money a week to buy communal food, which helps a lot. the hostel always has a great atmosphere and they have theme nights (karaoke the best). I hope to come back someday!
