The Experience

We love to host volunteers and we are looking for travelers who are friendly and detail-oriented :) You would teach yoga 6 days a week and help out in party animator. I definitely learned a lot during my time in Mayan Monkey! I met great people that made my time simply wonderful. The location of the hotel is ideal and beaches and shops are usually at a 1minute walk. The team had amazing people who make you feel welcomed all time and will be there for any help or advice.I suggest more work on the food for volunteers. I felt my dietary restrictions were not fully respected a lot of times. For the last week, I was put on a job that was not agreed on the first day. I suggest more communication with volunteers about times and tasks rather than imposing it on them

This was my first work exchange ever, and wow, amazing! The staff are all super welcoming, the hours respected, and the accommodations are so nice (not every hostel has clean bathrooms like this). I made some amazing friends with other volunteers as well as some of the staff. Love ya Perla! Also, everybody is more or less bilingual so anyone can practice Spanish and/or English here!

God knows how thankful I am for the opportunity of being part of this fam. If you are lucky to volunteer here please take it professional during your 5 hour work exchange. Here you will have the most beautiful experiences and will come across with many beautiful people from al over the world. This is one of most potential hostels in Mexico to start your carrier as a volunteer or work exchange. I want to thank Mayan monkey staff for giving me the most delicious and nutritious breakfast I could have in Cancun. The lunch and dinner they serve for staff and volunteers is the best!!! 1000 Thanks!!

I applied it for a bartender, but the position I stayed was good too.
The hostel vibe is a lot of party, drinks, music, I had a lot of fun and I highly recommend it to those looking for this kind of fun!
The location is great, close to the beach, and the nightclubs and restaurants.
The schedule was respected and organized, which made it easier to enjoy of the dayoff.
Thanks Mayan Monkey 🐒❤️

Being at Mayan Monkey was surely a positive experience regardless of the misleading situations that came up.
Apply only if you're into party vibe, music and drinks. The hostel is known due to its vib. Cancun is a desired location and Mayan Monkey is just a few meters away from the blue Caribbean ocean.
The work isn't difficult, the most important is to get everything sorted out before starting. Get as much info as possible beforehand, make sure to get your tasks and supplies informed prior starting your activities, because for some of them creativity is required.
