I m truly grateful to the Serra da Estrela for welcoming me – such a beautiful place, with a river and trees – and even more so for the dogs: Megy, Fleur, Val, Simonao, Lince, Soleil, Nova, Tranquina, Pipo, Popoke, and the puppies. I carry them in my heart and in my prayers. I loved the dogs; they are incredible creatures—the most loving, noble, loyal and grateful dogs in the world. It was an important place for me because I will carry them in my heart, and I hope that many volunteers will spend time with the animals and have a wonderful stay in such a marvelous place—a paradise. Thanks Ana Pao

This was a true Worldpackers experience. Ana is an excellent host, warm, attentive, and full of stories to share. The work routine is very easy to handle most of the time is spent taking care of the dogs (who are very cute and friendly), plus a few tasks like tidying the rooms and helping with general house maintenance. Without a doubt, a great volunteering experience in terms of balance between volunteer hours and free time to explore the area. I had a wonderful experience, and I would definitely recommend this volunteering opportunity to anyone, with or without prior experience.

Raimundo did an excellent job at Salto do Lobo the whole time, from working with the dogs, taking care of the dogs' home, setting up equipment in the room and at the doors, always available! He even helped me with social media—his dedication, work, and kindness are incredible. AHHH and he makes excellent desserts!!! Definitely Raimundo is included among my favorite volunteers :))). Immense gratitude, Raimundo

Sadly I had to leave me stay early, but I would recommend this place specifically to those who like nature. It is about 20 minute drive from town. But the river and views are very nice and peaceful. The dogs are wonderful and deserve all the love in the world, and they are so friendly to people!

Ana and Paolo are kind and respectful people who always respected my space and made me feel ok. The place is great for those who enjoy nature and are looking for a quiet, the work is simple and usually doesn't take more than four hours a day. However, there were some issues with organization. Agreed schedules were not always followed, which sometimes made things a bit unclear. Overall, the experience was different from what I expected for my second volunteering opportunity, but I still learned something from it.
I wish Ana all the best and hope she finds the right people for this experience.

Spending this time at the guest house Labo was a gentle crossing between challenge and comfort. Between nature's green murmur and the quiet of the house, I found a hidden part of myself, surrounded by volunteers who made all the difference and under Ana's care. Caring for the dogs brought lightness to the days, and even without exploring much because of the weather, there was beauty in the snow. These weeks were of learning and reinvention, among the truest I have lived. I carry every silence and laugh with deep gratitude. With love, Júlia

Julia was a great help to Salto do Lobo. It was a time of many cold storms, snow, and rain, but Julia was always very active, responsible, and consistent in her work. Julia was also a great help because of her talents in the kitchen and her help with trips to the supermarket.
Thank you, Julia.

I had a really nice volunteering experience here. Anna was kind and helpful throughout the stay. I had a lot of fun with the other volunteers, which made the experience even better and the dogs are very friendly. The property is located in the mountains, in a very beautiful and surrounded by nature, with a river nearby. The work can be a little hard during winter because of the weather, but overall it's an amazing location.

Sushi, a notable presence during this period of heightened work tension due to the snowstorms and cold weather, which demanded greater effort and resilience in the daily work at Salto do Lobo.
I will never forget his daily dedication to his work because all his work was done with great dedication and joy.

Thank you, Sushi.

Thank you, Joaquim. I will never forget the affection and companionship you gave me and the dogs of Salto do Lobo. You will always be welcome.

Jolie was a huge help during my time of need. She was incredibly diligent with all her tasks, caring for my dogs with great affection and discipline, paying special attention to little Pipó. She worked wonders with Sol, giving him long walks, and he was thrilled to be there (he's a different dog now, thanks to you, Joelina). Getting my driver's license was also very helpful, and she helped me with grocery shopping, housework, and making the video wMaria. All of this at a nonstop pace! thank you
