The Experience

This volunteer opportunity is a great place to meet both other travellers and locals as well as experience the culture of the northern Peruvian coast. When I volunteered in August, it was the restaurant off season and the work was very relaxed and easy- you only typically da couple of tasks a day or take care of a couple of customers. This is a great place for people who want to chill and would like lots of downtime. The beach nearby is a beautiful.

Being at the restaurant La Pirámide del Mar, en the organization, was a really amazing experience, because i could paint and do my artwork with freedom and joy. This is a place where hosts make you feel that you are part of the family, and you can share funny experiences with different people from around the world. It's an experience for those who like t0 live in community, where communication, respect, diversity and love are main values.

This is a great experience for people who love staying in contact with nature and go to the beach very often (here you can do both of them daily!) Before you go, just try to confirm that the restaurant will be open — the experience is way more funny if the restaurant staff is also living there and if there are clients getting in and out all the time — that didn't happened to us in one of the weeks of our stay, when the restaurant closed for restoration works and then the experience was way more boring, since the “the organization” is located in a very quiet place with not much people to see and meet.
