The hostel is a great place to work, and is in a convenient central location for visiting Riga, or traveling to other places. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and many guests comment favorably on the atmosphere. Volunteer duties are spelled out clearly, and are flexible based on your interests -- either housekeeping duties, social activities, or a mix of the two. It is also easy to get two days off in a row, to allow visits to Estonia or Lithuania (or even further!). I would definitely recommend this as one of my best volunteer experiences.

I had a great experience volunteering at the hostel. The hostel is clean, comfortable and Julius was always kind and flexible with time off The activities were a highlight—fun to organize and a great way to meet guests. The main downside was sometimes getting extra random tasks after finishing early just to fill the 4.5-hour shift, which could be frustrating. The atmosphere also shifted during my stay from a younger, more social vibe to a quieter, older crowd, though that depends on the guests. Overall, I had a great time, met amazing people, and would recommend volunteering here!

I would definitely recommend the hostel! My days off were always respected, and our preferences were taken into consideration when creating the schedule. We had great communication with the manager, who was always open to feedback and suggestions for improving the hostel. The volunteers' dorm was spacious and had a fridge. The reception team was amazing!
