I couldn't recommend the organization more, Bernabé is a fantastic director who lets you into his home and is super flexible and understanding. The social projects are not only very meaningful but very fun, and this program gave me everything I wanted and more.

From the moment you arrive in Huancayo, the organization makes it a home away from home. Kindness and care from the hosts as well as meaningful and compassionate work with locals of all ages.

I spent one month at the organization in June and came back with incredible memories. Alvaro and Bernabe make sure you immerse yourself in Andean culture and are always available if you need anything. The projects are diverse, and you get to work with different groups of people, from elderly people to children. Weekends are free. For example, we went hiking and trekking in the mountains with Ruben (a guide recommended by the organization), where we got to see untouched Inca paintings. I would recommend that volunteers come with at least a basic knowledge of Spanish. Chévere, the organization!

The plan was to stay a bit more than two weeks I stayed a month. It changed me in the most amazing way, ExpandPeru was my first volunteer experience abroad. I was scared and didn't know any Spanish, but ExpandPeru made it the best experience I could've asked for. They were amazing in every way, I would recommend going to anyone who wants to get out of their comfort zone and have an amazing experience. I am going to miss it so much, I have made friendships here that will last me a lifetime, thank you ExpandPeru for changing my life. If you're reading this, go, you'll be so thankful you did.

My time with the organization was unforgettable. Bernabé and Ingrid are incredible, and care so much about the projects and the comfort of volunteers. Working with the elderly and with children with learning disabilities was very rewarding, albeit sad at times. It was very easy to meet people in huancayo and to find activities to do (would recommend salsa classes and weekend trips!). I'd recommend knowing at least a little bit of spanish. Don't think twice, volunteer with the organization!!
