A decent experience if this is your first time volunteering, but the role description wasn't entirely accurate. I applied for reception but ended up doing cleaning tasks most of the time. The environment had a bit of a weird vibe, and it was clear there had been some friction with previous volunteers. It's an okay option, just be aware that the actual duties may vary from what you signed up for.

My stay in Mérida was absolutely amazing. It was my very first volunteer experience and also my first solo travel trip, and it truly set the bar high. The location was great, and I felt safe at all times, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Everything was communicated clearly, and I always felt comfortable and welcomed by everyone. A huge thank you to Ale, Kike, Adrián, and all of the staff. You were all wonderful and made my time here unforgettable. I hope to be back soon.

I stayed for 2 months and it was life changing! The people, the energy of the place is really special. I had so much fun meeting amazing people from all around the world and made lifelong friends and memories. I'm so grateful for this opportunity and I'll never forget my time here. Thank you 🙏🏼 I truly love the is place it's like home to me. I was in the front desk and it was so much fun. Later I was doing some cleaning during a late night shift but always covering the hours that I had to cover. The place is 10 min walk to the main square. I highly recommend this opportunity! Much love!

Honestly it was a super relaxed volunteering experience, I mostly was making breakfast, because I think I overestimated my Spanish speaking skills and I didn't really realise that most of the guests were Spanish speaking, so I couldn't really do reception unassisted. Everyone was really friendly and they provided breakfast and a comfortable place to sleep. If you have any questions about the experience please message me.
