Our shelter is not only a safe space for them, but also a place where every volunteer leaves lasting marks of love and solidarity.

4 hours of help per day
Animal Care: Help look after and take care of animals.
Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.
Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.
Amount: US$ 8 Per day
Description: 8$ is the cost for the lodging where you will stay; we don't have a house to accommodate you, that is why the lodging we will recommend has that cost already with the discount.
2 days off per week

We are a shelter with 40 dogs, of which we welcomed 35 from the abandoned shelter ESPERANZA CANINA DE HUANCHACO, mostly senior dogs.
Today we no longer admit dogs, as we must give them a better quality of life; your support is important. We do not have a volunteers' house, but we can suggest lodging with a special discount for being our volunteer by the sea and for beautiful sunsets.
It is a hard task in which every day your contribution matters: construction, improvements, cleaning, walks on the beach, love and much more.
The shelter's activity is unique: cleaning, feeding with water and removing trash, and above all filling our dogs with a lot of love.
This project needs people with energy, and a desire to improve the place, and above all humility about their contribution to the shelter.
Everything is valued when it is given from the heart.

Activities:
All activities take place in the morning, between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm.
Check-in in the morning (scheduled hours from 8 am to 1:00 pm maximum entry; according to your activities outside the shelter) begins with:
- cleaning, picking up trash and arranging the dogs' beds.
- preparation of the food (serving kibble) to be distributed to the dogs.
- cleaning of water tubs and bowls.
- verifying the status of each dog.
If there is a companion volunteer, you can schedule a walk on the beach with the dogs and/or brushing the dogs' fur.
- removal of the waste from the place
- it is mandatory to report in the WhatsApp group your daily activity when you arrive at the shelter as you find it and when you leave as you leave it, with photos and videos.
Before leaving, ensure doors are securely closed and remove the trash collected that day.
Any accident, loss of keys, or any broken object must be replaced by the volunteer.

- no unauthorized persons entering the shelter, friends, partners without authorization
- no drug use inside the shelter
- no removing dogs without prior notice
- do not disclose the shelter's location information
- ORDER AND CLEANLINESS are the priority of the dogs' home
- we do not allow boyfriends/friends/visitors in our volunteers' house
- always inform everything about both the shelter and the lodging and surf schools to guide them
- IF YOU WANT TO HELP WITH FUNDS FOR THE SHELTER FOOD, YOU MUST INFORM US FIRST TO KNOW HOW OUR NAME AND IMAGES WILL BE USED.
