We're a small English school serving around 200 students aged 6-18, who come to us after school for to learn English. We want to broaden their horizons and spark curiosity about the world outside. With tuition at $100/year, and scholarships available, we ensure that quality education is within reach for all. We're looking for 2-4 volunteers at one time to help us inspire these young minds. Teaching English here was amazing. My favorite part was simply meeting the students. They are so kind, curious,and eager to learn. I've met many locals, being this is a non tourist area, solely locals.

My stay was a truly great experience. Everyone at the the school is incredibly warm hearted, helping and welcoming. The kids were adorable and the older ones became good acquaintances. I had a private room and there were two delicous meals provided each day. The working scedule is clear and fair and it honestly didn't feel like work. It's a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the cambodian culture and a rural village where you will be the only tourist. Truly this has been one of the best worlpackers I've done. I left with tears in my eyes. The connections you are bound to make here will leave a lasting impact on your life. I recommend renting a bike from Phnom Penh while you're here so you can explore the village. I volunteered for about a month at GVS and it was such a rewarding experience. Everyone who works at the the school is so welcoming and kind. I found my room to be very comfortable because I was the only volunteer at the time (that is very rare to happen) so I got a king sized mattress on the floor (pillow + blanket), a fan, storage thing and it was private and clean. The food was amazing so I suggest doing the $3 a day for food because it is difficult to get food elsewhere anyways. I was scared before I left, but I am so happy I got to experience it!

My feelings about the the school are conflicted. My experience teaching was very rewarding and the students were a privilege to teach. I was impressed by their motivation to learn and engagement in lessons. The family are very welcoming and the village is a beautiful place. My struggles arose from the founder of the the school - whose house we stayed in. He is deeply struggling with his health, both mentally and physically. This is impacting the the school. I strongly disagree with his behaviour towards the students and I have deep concerns for their welfare. Dont recommend visiting on your own
