We are a community of potato lovers in the north of Germany. Our passion is cultivating potatoes from all over the world, cooking, tasting and serving our guests. We run the one and only potato farm hotel in Germany. You help us in the restaurant to serve food and drinks for our guests. For this task, it is actually important that you have a good knowledge of German. Once a week we organize a German course for you. We plan with 5 days a week

I had a great experience being here! All the staff, the volunteers and guests are lovely and always willing to help you. I had an excellent experience at Kartoffel-hotel. The unique and beautiful location provided a peaceful escape from the city. The host and workers were always available to answer questions. I felt welcomed and recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to learn about the country, language, and culture. It's easy to visit larger cities on free days with a Deutschland ticket. The lessons I learned during my stay will stay with me for a lifetime. PS: No potato-picking for me!

I had a really great time at Kartoffel-Hotel! This is the perfect place to go if you're searching for an opportunity to learn a lot about the hospitality industry while getting in touch with nature in a quiet village. There are different tasks volunteers can carry out and the working hours are respected. It is also a great way to learn or improve your the hostel thanks to the weekly language class and the interactions with the staff and guests. Totally recommend it!

The potato hotel is definitely a place to go if you love potatoes. You will eat them for nearly every meal. The owner and staff are very nice and welcoming. This is a nice place if you want to get away from the city and remain in a very rural place. There is not much to do in the nearest small town and you would have to travel a pretty far distance to visit a city. The work is physically demanding labor. During my time I split wood, dug a trench, carried a lot of felled trees and so forth. It is a great way to learn and work on your the hostel and build muscle.

The experience was amazing! The place is calm and bucolic, with original the hostel Architecture of a farm. The staff is absolutely friendly and helpfull. the hostel classes are very good and it's an incredible opportunity to learn about they language and culture. I felt like Home 😊
