The Experience

In our project, the entire process takes a sustainable approach. From construction through to the inn's hosting processes. The fundamental activities we carry out involve tasks in bioconstruction, gardening, maintenance and customer service (most of them closely tied to the time of year you visit us). The volunteer shifts are part-time and always in a collaborative and friendly environment.

My experience was good, Pablo was cordial with me and I learned about bioconstruction.
Currently the space operates as a campground and not as an inn, but it has bathrooms and an outdoor kitchen.
The tasks are mainly construction and physical work. The agreed exchange hours are fulfilled and then you’re free.
When it rains it can get a little tricky. The location is good.

Thanks, Tomas. Just the clarification about your perception regarding how 'the place works'. If it's an inn, it's just that with permanent guests this season. And regarding the camping format for volunteers, which, like the others this season, had been clearly discussed and clarified before you arrived. I'm sorry you didn't have adequate equipment for inclement weather. We did everything possible to ensure you had a good experience 🙏

Near the center of La Barra, markets, shops and very beautiful beaches, Pablo is a good guy; he took us to the beach, grilled and even taught me about candombe and leatherworking for drums!! Unfortunately it rained heavily and some people had their stalls wet, the rain also disrupted a few activities and we couldn't work with permaculture, bioconstruction or painting/art, also because I spent little time. I worked a lot with gardening and I discovered how much I identified with that.

The experience at the inn was very good, I learned to develop myself in many tasks that I did not have much experience with and I had a great time with both the host and the rest of the people I met there. The tasks are very clear and there is full support to carry them out, Pablo is a good project leader and establishes clear communication so that everything runs smoothly. Work is based on strong values and collaboration, learning, basic considerations to pass the working hours in the best possible way, the tasks are mostly light.

Buenas viajeros!!
