The Experience

Enrique is a lovely man and was very knowledgeable and passionate about what he does ! The work was not what we expected but it was still cool to help out where we could ! The facilities were not what we expected either, there isn't actual accomodation as such, we slept in a cave with no door and there isn't any bathrooms (shower/toilet) or running water, or any indoors aside from the cave you sleep in. If you can survive literally off grid you may cope with your stay here. Discuss any dietary requirements beforehand otherwise you may be in for a shock with food. left early due to getting sick

Enrique was a great host, he taught us a lot about his land & how he looks after it all. Although, I did not expect to be sleeping in a cave that had no door & I didn't know there would be no toilet/shower. It would've been much easier to stay if there were these facilities. We had to leave earlier due to sickness which is most likely because of the minimal hygiene. But apart from this, it is a great place to volunteer, Enrique is easy to get along with & very friendly!

The farm is surrounded by beautiful nature, and I really liked the place. But. Probably I should have put more questions before coming, because: there are missing a lot of basic stuff, and one of the biggest problems I faced was the place where I slept - an empty room without door, and during the nights was very cold. However, all this wouldn't have bothered me, if the atmosphere would have been different. Also, I found out that we don't receive food in our off days, which I understand, but it wasn't foretold. As it is the beginning of the project, I hope it will get better with the time.
