The Experience

Here, we’re trying to recover the soil and improve biodiversity on the land. We need one or two helping hands to assist us. Since this is a more isolated region, we believe couples or groups of friends will be happier, but nothing prevents you from applying if you’re traveling alone. Most of the activities are in our garden, such as: watering the plants, covering the soil, fertilizing, pruning, and making cuttings. We’re happy to teach you.

We spent a month at Valerian and Leticia working in their garden. They were very welcoming and nice to us. The communication was super easy, they were always here if we needed any help. The tasks were varied, weeding, construction, diy, sewing, general maintenance of the premise… the setting is beautiful, the place is right on the lake, and they've made it very pleasant. Leticia and Valerian offered us activities and advise on how to keep ourselves busy. They introduced us to the locals, and we got to try all sorts of things. Our stay with them this month was fantastic, both relaxing and ints

We spent three special weeks with Letícia and Valerian. They were always very kind and happy to share aspects of permaculture and their personal experience / project. Daily tasks included caring for the chickens, weeding, potting and planting, making compost, and other odd jobs. Working hours were respected and in our free time we were able to explore surrounding nature (weather permitting) by foot or kayaks - we even hitched a boat ride to the Dunes with Valerian! I recommend this experience to those looking to disconnect and spend some downtime in nature. Thanks again for everything

During our stay we helped Leticia and Valerian at their properties around Lagoa the project. We helped finish up the construction of two houses and worked on things like, wiring, trim work, digging trenches for water pipes, and various finishing touches to the spaces (hanging curtain rods, painting light fixtures, etc.) We learned a lot from them that we will be able to use in the future when we build our own house! We worked the agreed upon hours that are listed on Worldpackers and they brought us to different spots in the region including their posada in Jericoacoara. 10/10 Amazing!

It was very beautiful to get to know up close a routine based on fewer excesses and more presence, connection, and respect for the place where they live. I carry with me many lessons and fond memories.

I want to thank you for all this time volunteering here in Ceará. It was an incredible experience, and having lived all this alongside that wonderful couple made it even more special. ❤️ I am very grateful for every conversation, learning, moment shared, and for all the trust and affection you showed me. It was wonderful to be part of this family, even if only for a period.
