The Experience
Volunteers are assign to dog shelter supporting in cleaning, animal care, giving shower, spending time with dogs, taking them out for a walk and so on. Please be aware that cleaning involves removing dog poop from their living area and giving walks what means give physical effort. Please only contact us if you are willing to work hard and give 100% of effort for them.

Volunteering at the shelter was amazing! It is very hard work but so worth it if you love dogs :)

I had a great time at the shelter. The work is not easy but I enjoyed being around the dogs every day. The dogs are incredible and you will have trouble not adopting 7. Kishor and Jessica are very nice and welcoming. They da great job making the volunteers feel comfortable and included. I got to meet amazing people from around the world and Acopampa is a small but beautiful town in the mountains. I highly recommend volunteering at the shelter if you love or like animals especially dogs.

I had an excellent time at CasaViva dog shelter! Everyone was super nice. The cleaning work is hard at the beginning, but as soon as you learn the dynamics of it, it's much easier. The dogs are very lovely and they need a lot of time&love :) I'm gonna miss them.

I had an absolutely incredible experience at Casa Vida. It is located in a small town called Acopampa which is in the middle of Carhuaz and Huaraz. The whole area is beautiful and it was so fun to spend my days with all of the dogs at the shelter. Definitely be ready to work hard but all of the love you receive from the dogs is well worth it! On your off days you can go to one of the many lagunas in the area or explore the towns and shop for delicious fruit. I hope to return again someday, maybe to adopt!

Volunteering in the shelter was beyond my expectations. They really do an amazing job with the dogs and the comunity. Is a hard job, but it worths and time flies! I definetely want to go back some day and contribute more.
