The Experience

We teach sustainable organic gardening and have small B&B . We produce heirloom tomato and vegetable seeds and are part of a national rare seed bank. We also have an organic Garden where the goal is to teach sustainable practices and connect people to where the food comes from and it’s true value. We also need lots of Help with cleaning/housekeeping and laundry. Come learn and have a great experience in the Swiss Alps!

Staying with Liz was a great experience for me! the location amazing with tons to explore locally and its well connected by trains and buses if you want to explore further. I've learned a lot with Liz and got to know her very well :) The work is not too hard and can only get tricky when drying laundry on rainy days haha Liz really welcomes you into her life and wants to share experiences with you, she is very involved in the work and hanging out with the team after! she also has a lot of great recommendations for trips in the area and wants to help you see Switzerland!

Elizabeth is such a lovely, friendly lady, from the moment I arrived she made me feel so welcome and i immediately felt her positive energy! Her home and the surrounding area is really beautiful and during my stay I felt grateful to be volunteering in such a beautiful place! When we worked together as a team we always had fun and laughs while doing the tasks, we made and ate delicious food together and socialised many times which always had us laughing hard! I'd definitely recommend this place and the host to anyone! I left there healthier both mentally and physically!!

My stay with Liz was an amazing and unforgettable experience! From my arrival, she made me feel warmly welcomed and took the time to show me around her beautiful town in the heart of Switzerland. I felt the tasks were very fair and straightforward (mainly cleaning, laundry, cooking, and gardening), and I loved the flexibility I had during my “off” days to explore the Alps & surrounding cities with the other volunteers. Liz is the embodiment of sunshine, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with her and the other volunteers! I give this experience my highest recommendation.

Liz is a really energetic and confident person. She loves a chat and wants you to experience the best of Switzerland. She has great tips on places to visit throughout town and beyond. The work is pretty straight forward and Liz is clear about her expectations. It's worth noting that it's more 90% cleaning and 10% gardening. It didn't offer as much on sustainability as I'd hoped. Future programs should better balance the chores with learning. Highlight was the food and meeting other volunteers! Liz gives us great recipes and we have access to freshly harvested fruit and Veg!

Unfortunately Jessica stayed with me during a time period where I was on holidays for 2 of the 6 weeks she was there, and we had an unprecedented amount of rain and bad weather which is not normal for summer and prevented us from doing much outside. so not so much opportunity for learning due to those 2 factors. But it was great having her and I would definitely host her again!

Liz is the most amazing host! She has unmatched knowledge of the surrounding area and sustainability. She is very easy to talk to in English, Swiss-German, and Spanish as she is fluent in all 3. During my time at the farm, I contributed to small construction projects, DIY projects, gardening and much more. I learned about eco sustainability and improved my German! Liz only accepts the highest quality volunteers, as this is an extraordinary place to learn sustainability in an extraordinary setting. I highly recommend the farm to anyone who seeks high quality in their chosen host.
