Program Details

We are looking for responsible, detail-oriented and respectful volunteers to join our team and help us keep our space immaculate for guests. We offer a warm and collaborative environment where good coexistence is essential.

What do we offer to our volunteers?

Accommodation: Shared room exclusively for volunteers with their own bathroom. It is a spacious, clean and very comfortable space, equipped with beds, wardrobes, and a ventilation system. It is located on the lower level of the house (basement), so it has excellent lighting but no direct sunlight, which makes it a very quiet and fresh place to rest.

Included meals: We have a large kitchen available to you. We buy weekly ingredients (chicken, vegetables, groceries, etc.) adapting to what the volunteer group usually eats and cooks.

Coexistence and cleanliness: The volunteers' kitchen is shared with the host family. Therefore, it is indispensable and mandatory to keep this space impeccable at all times.

Location and language: We only require that you speak Spanish (no need to know English).

Activities & Shift

Your main responsibilities (Workflow):
• Step 0 (Before starting): If there are sheets and towels dry on yesterday's clothesline, fold them (and iron them if applicable) to clear the space and have clean clothes ready.
• Step 1 (Cleaning priority): Gather all sheets and towels from unoccupied rooms and run the washing machine immediately.
• Step 2 (General cleaning): While the washing machine runs, perform cleaning of unoccupied rooms, the guests' kitchen, the hallways and common areas.
• Step 3 (Clothesline): When the wash cycle finishes, hang the bed linen and towels on the clothesline.
• Step 4 (Flexible folding and ironing): Handle folding and ironing with flexibility throughout the week, avoiding letting dry clothes pile up.
• Step 5 (Stained or damaged garments): If you find sheets, towels or any other garment torn or with stubborn stains, separate it and place it in the designated tray for the host to take care of it.
• Step 6 (Seasonal varied support and projects): Depending on the season or when there are no rooms to clean, support will be required in other areas necessary for the business or property:

Social media: Create content, photos/videos and posts to raise awareness.

Maintenance and general tasks: Move furniture, transport loads/materials or assist with specific tasks.

Farm and outdoors: Help fertilize, care for the land or field tasks according to the season.

Shifts and hours flexibility:
• Daily average: 5 hours per day.
• Hours compensation system: Free rooms are the day's absolute priority. There will be busy days with many check-outs where you will work a little longer (6 or 7 hours) and then the hours will be deducted on calmer days after you leave everything in order.

Rules

To guarantee a harmonious and efficient stay for everyone, we ask you to comply with the following rules:

Room priority: Unoccupied rooms must be left completely clean and ready the same day. Under no circumstances should a room be left pending to finish the shift.

Task variety and flexibility: Be willing to assist in various tasks according to the season's needs (social media, maintenance, moving things, farm fertilization, etc.) when daily cleaning tasks are completed or there are no rooms to attend.

Mandatory and indispensable cleaning in the kitchen: As it is a kitchen shared with the host family, it is not optional: it is strictly mandatory to leave everything clean, utensils washed, and trash discarded immediately after cooking or eating.

Care of the volunteers' room and bathroom: Keep your room shared and your bathroom always clean, tidy, and taking care of the ventilation equipment.

Comprehensive establishment care: Keep the guests' rooms, guests' kitchen, hallways and common areas immaculate.

Teamwork and hours flexibility: Understand the hours compensation dynamic (overtime on busy days is balanced by leaving early on calmer days after leaving everything in order).

Laundry organization: Check and fold the previous day's dry clothes before starting the washing of the new ones. Start the washing machine at the beginning of the shift and hang until the end of the cycle.

Management of damaged garments: Place torn or stained garments in the special tray reserved for the host.

Respect and good coexistence: Always maintain mutual respect with fellow volunteers, the family, and those in charge.
