What you get

The Experience
Teaching for free English, and environmental responsibility to rural village children, opening-up for them, especially women, the prospects of good jobs and /or further education at College, in the line of SDGs of UN goals. I'm so so so grateful I applied to this project in particular! It is a great volunteer program where you can have your first little teaching experience and also contact a lot with local community (Lao Team and students from the school) ! Also I would love to mention how amazing work all the Lao Team is doing in this project. I really felt like home even being very far away (so home I extended from 3 weeks to 4 ahahah) Thank you a lot fore everything! See you in the future hopefully!❤️🇱🇦

I had a wonderful experience at Sae Lao and I fully recommend to any traveller. I really felt a sense of community and family whilst staying here. Although I was only at Sae Lao for 2 weeks, I made the best connections and friendships that will last a lifetime. I loved seeing the joy on the childrens faces when we entered the schools and how even 2 hours a day can make a small impact on their lives. Sae Lao is a great way to feel a part of a community and a great way to give back to the people of Laos. A wonderful 2 weeks!!

Volunteering at Sae Lao is one of my top experiences of my trip. Living and working in a local community gave me a chance to really understand everyday life and opened my eyes to what is around me. I developed such strong connections with the students, volunteers and the Sae Lao team who all warmed my heart in ways I never expected. My highlights were the kids running and jumping onto the tuk tuk with such joy, painting a classroom and all the hugs/high 5s I would get from all the students at the end of every lesson. I will cherish my experience here forever :)

Volunteering at the Sae Lao Project has been the most beautiful experience! Teaching the students has been so rewarding, and I love how excited they are to learn! I had no teaching experience, but I learnt from the Lao team and the other previous volunteers to help the students learn and improve their English skills and knowledge. I want to say a huge thank you to Peter and the Lao team for giving me this opportunity and for always being so welcoming, kind, friendly, for helping me immerse into the local community and always having smiles on your faces. I will never forget you!

I absolutely loved volunteering at Sae Lao! Teaching the students in Vang Vieng was incredibly rewarding, the students are so friendly and excited to learn! The Sae Lao staff were so lovely and accomodating. If any volunteer ever had a question or concern, the staff were happy to help. I would 100% recommend volunteering at this project.
