The Experience

Our project is an English teaching academy shaped as a cafe to maximize practicing time. As we believe that Language is acquired through life not taught, We have adapted the communicative approach to deliver the best and fastest outcomes in addition to using the most frequent words in English to make sure that our students develop the best communication strategies at the fastest pace.

From day one, everyone at the host treated me like family. I had amazing conversations, unforgettable moments, and made lasting friendships. I also felt super safe and embraced by the community. During my time here, I learned about Turkish culture, explored the language, and made new friends. Volunteering at the host was an amazing experience. I had the chance to teach English, which was both fun and rewarding. The students were eager, friendly, and easy to teach. Meeting volunteers from different countries was a highlight, as we shared and learned from each other's cultures. Big thanks to Fouad and Nada for the surprise birthday party. I am also grateful to the reception team, Yunus and Ceyda, for their warm welcome and for making me feel at home. My time at the host was incredible. I got to teach English which was such a fun experience. It's such a great way to learn English as it's fun and non stressful for the students! We got to learn about different cultures and see Gaziantep. They are also very interested in learning about the volunteers cultures which is super fun! Everyone was so welcoming and friendly.
