The Experience

Bartending and events promoter for our garden; we have live music several days a week. You can arrange your schedule with the other volunteers; we only ask for 30 hours per week of volunteer exchange at our bar. In return for a good working environment, comfortable beds with privacy, laundry facilities, a fully equipped kitchen, and daily breakfast. We have a garden with a bar, hammocks, and a billiards table, and we are very close to San Cristóbal's central park.

I volunteered for 3 weeks, helping at reception and the bar. German, the owner, was very flexible. The other volunteers and staff members were friendly. I received a delicious breakfast every day and was able to prepare my own food there as well. the hostel provided a comfortable bed, a nice shower, laundry service once a week, and a beautiful green backyard. Additionally, the hostel is conveniently located close to the city center. Thank you the hostel!!

Volunteering is going well.

The rooms are very comfortable, there is laundry, and the work is appropriate. German is friendly and open.

There are points to consider: anyone who relies on reviews and photos beforehand should know that there have been changes: it stopped being a hostel and is now only a bar; breakfasts are not served, but you have to buy supplies and prepare them.

The bar is open 12 hours, and it operates where you live. This is good to know, since spaces and bathrooms are shared with the clients.

Germán, the owner, is kind, respectful and attentive.

The tasks are simple and were carried out; they consist of providing support at the bar. For breakfast, supplies are purchased, we talked with Germán about adding a few things and he gave us a weekly budget.
The facilities are very nice but are shared precisely with the guests, which can be uncomfortable at night for a woman.
What should be clarified is that the place mainly operates as a bar, almost nothing as lodging anymore, so the photos are somewhat outdated; the vibe is different.

I recommend volunteering.
