The Experience

I am specifically looking for a people who can help on the farm during coffee harvest. I have some building projects, road maintenance and machete work also. It also helps if you are willing to stay here alone so I can get away for a few days. I have a worker that helps on the farm but I live alone. So I need responsible people so please excuse me if I am very selective with my volunteers.

A great experience seeing how a coffee farm really works! The work is as hard as you'd expect farm work to be, but it's fair and very rewarding. Arnoby, the farm worker, is a fantastic guy. I learned a lot about coffee from him and got plenty of chances to practice my Spanish. Ethan is an excellent host: he's flexible with working hours, accommodating whenever something comes up, and he even lent me his scooter whenever I needed to get into town. If you want to experience real farm life in Colombia's coffee region, this is the place to do it. Highly recommended!

Ethan welcomed us into his home and we felt at ease right away. The farm is in a beautiful spot on the outskirts of a small but lovely town, with its own river and lots of animals. There was fresh coffee, bananas and yogurt to go round. While Ethan is pretty busy and hard at work, he's available to help with whatever is needed, good for a chat and was also very helpful with the occasional lift into town and local suggestions. The work on the farm was hard at times but rewarding, and Arnoby the local worker was great to learn from. We had lots of time to relax and wander in the afternoons!

This was my first volunteering gig with my husband and we had a great experience. Ethan is a super nice and relaxed boss!! The work was pretty manageable and he was flexible with what you did and adapted the work to your abilities. Arnoby his Colombian worker explained everything clearly and we learnt a lot about coffee and coffee harvesting! Good way to practice Spanish too! La finca is absolutely beautiful and working in nature everyday was just lovely and of course the animals! Super grateful for this experience and I will miss la the farm a lot - highly recommend!!

This was my first volunteering experience and Ethan was the perfect host and the farm was the perfect place for this experience. The finca is a really beautiful place and it's located super close to a very genuine town where cowboys still ride horses around the main square. The room and bed where nice. The kitchen and food were openly accessible. We had some nice chats and Ethan brought me along to his activities like going to the gym and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practices. He also saved me with a ride from another town when I missed the last bus and get cash when I couldn't access ATM

I really enjoyed my stay at the Finca, the place is very beautiful and peaceful! The tasks were okay and the time was respected, Ethan was very flexible about the hours. The town is nice and you can go walking. The only thing was that the kitchen was not always clean, but it was possible to use, and I didn't learn a lot about coffee as I thought I would. But in general it is a really nice place to get to know!
