When you volunteer at global village you will be required to help up to 4 hours a day cleaning rooms and bathrooms or reception shifts. The rest of the day you can spend doing whatever you like, weather its exploring the city and its many pubs or going for a day trip somewhere around Ireland. We are very flexible with when you help as we do a roster each week and can work around your needs so you can get the best experience from your time here.

I had an amazing time at the hostel. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly, and made me feel like home in no time. You are given plenty of free time off work to explore Belfast and the surrounding locations. I would absolutely recommend the hostel to anyone who is interested. The Manager, Callum, made me feel very welcome, gave me recommendations and advice on life and activities in the city, and was always helpful to us volunteers. Big shoutout out to Taylor , Roisin, Max, Corrine, Grace and Lucy. Thank you for all the memories guys!

My stay in GV has been completely positive. The hostel is great, with a big common area and kitchen, and it’s close to the city centre. The rota is well organised, and Tash is lovely and always happy to help. I would definitely recommend it if you enjoy a pub-style atmosphere.

Upon my arrival at the hostel, I found the assigned accommodation to be extremely dirty, unhygienic, and completely unlivable. There was even old food and onions left inside shoes in the room, proving that the space was never cleaned prior to my arrival. The conditions did not match the photos or descriptions on the listing at all. Due to serious health and safety concerns, I had to leave immediately and pay for emergency lodging out of pocket. Worldpackers Support had to step in and officially terminate the trip. I strongly advise future volunteers to proceed with caution.

I have had a great month at the hostel! All the other volunteers are wonderful, and Tasha is a fantastic manager - so kind and very flexible with shifts. The workload is very fair and you get lots of time off. The location is great, easy walking distance to restaurants, museums and cafes, and it's very convenient for day trips outside of Belfast - to Dublin, Derry, Giant’s Causeway and more! Would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting to explore Northern Ireland.
