We are looking for volunteers to help us clean the hostel, prepare dinner, and help at the reception on the beautiful island of Miyajima. There might be other tasks depending on the situation. The island is located less than an hour outside of Hiroshima city and is most famous for its giant Torii gate. You can visit the UNESCO World Heritage shrine, climb Mt. Misen, and go swimming! My stay in the hostel was wonderful and what I was looking for! I could met other volunteers from all around the world and everyday became so fun. The tasks in this beautiful guest house are easy and Junya-san is very welcomming and helpful :) Also the hostel is very quiet and perfect if you are looking for peace (also a mesmerizing place, there are plenty of beautiful spots!!). I also had the chance to meet local people and everyone was simply lovely! I'm so grateful for this experience, thank you so much for everything!!!

The guesthouse and the team were very kind.
If you like Japanese curry this is the place for you as you can enjoy it every evening and customize it to your liking. 😋 The surrounding nature is beautiful and you can take amazing photos of the famous Torii gate in the water at sunrise and sunset.
The only downside is having to take the ferry to the mainland but with a little planning it's manageable. All in all, a lovely place to stay if you're looking for a relaxing getaway.

My stay at the hostel was absolutely amazing, the work was pretty easy and straightforward, which ment you had good time to explore the Island and nearby cities. Junya-san was good at accommodating you if you had plans, and the other volunteers were nice and fun. I would definitely come again.

This was our first volunteer experience and we couldn't have asked for a better team to work with! Everyone was very welcoming and helped us adapt the first few days and taught us how to do the chores. The hostel was a very cozy place and allowed us to interact with many international travelers. We would definitely recommend the hostel to people looking to volunteer in Japan!

This was my 3rd volunteering experience in Japan and the best one. Host and other volunteers were very welcoming. I am very happy that Junya accepted me only with housekeeping experience, so I could learn a lot about working in a kitchen and reception. The place is very cozy and there is much hikes to do in the island. Also, plenty of time to visit cities near by. Time in Mikunya flew very fast for me and I hope I can visit it one day again! Best recommendations! 🫶🏻
