Volunteers have the opportunity to support the local "Barra de Pacuare" school that we have help build. The school provides the best possible education to children and teenagers often from disadvantaged backgrounds and remote locations along Pacuare. The tasks you will be given are diverse but your English and Spanish skills will be particularly useful and will put a smile on their faces.

My stay in Ecovida couldn't have been better. Besides contributing to the beautiful project and ideas Roberto has to make Barra de the community a better place, 2 weeks in this remote calm place also allowed me to connect with myself. I feel like all volunteers share values and this makes things work out very easy. Integration with locals has made of this experience something unforgettable for life. Roberto is very open to hear the volunteers' feedback and has a real interest in keeping the community's essence. I would love to have the opportunity to come back <3

Ecovida the community has an incredible goal of cleaning and fixing up this small beach town into a place where locals, tourists, and animals can all thrive long into the future. It was their dedication to this project that made the work feel very fulfilling. You will work hard, live off the grid, and have to speak in only Spanish. However, all of this was very worth it given how friendly Roberto and the rest of the staff was. They made the experience feel very comfortable and were very eager to show me all the community has to offer. I am very happy with my experience!

Roberto was such a lovely host! From the beginning of our one week stay he welcomed us into his home, as did the cook Steven, with delicious foods. Very caring and compassionate place in a beautiful setting, looking after several dogs and commuting to environmental projects around the place. We also had some parties which we got to by night boat, a beautiful experience in itself as the stars are incredible. Overall such a good experience, great company and meaningful projects to participate in. Le magic y allegria x

This was such an amazing experience that changed how I go about my life. I've met the best travel friend I can have and ate some of the tastiest healthy food. You have to know spanish to communicate with the host and all unless you use translate! And be prepared with the right clothes and lots of repellent&sunscreen. The best place to connect back to nature while enjoying the company of the locals & travelers. This place really builds your tolerance but the beauty and relaxation is worth it! Roberto, you're an intelligent man and I hope to see you again when my spanish is better! Pura Vidaπ

Hey! My stay in the community was really nice ! Roberto is a very caring host. He was always trying to make us feel confortable and welcomed. He cooked really well for us and was always offering nice meals and fruits. He took us on walks to see the turtles and boat tours at night. The place is beautiful ! It's a nice beach in the middle of nowhere. I was expecting to work with the turtles, but it was not the case. The work is still nice though, you help cleaning the beach, playing with the school kids, help the locals with different projects. It's a nice experience outside the modern world!
