I liked everything about volunteering in general; I just wasn't that used to the kind of work I was supposed to do, because I've done other volunteering, but at the reception, so I didn't feel very motivated to carry out the tasks, but everyone was very kind to me, Duda, Dona Mara, the reception girls and Lane, only Gabriel, who is more closed off, but never treated me badly, he's just a little uncommunicative. Besides that, the place is comfortable, very quiet, and I have nothing to complain about.

Thank you for your feedback. At the time of the interview you presented yourself as someone who is accustomed to and capable of performing painting work and small repairs, which is why we accepted you for the position. We were looking for someone who would follow the schedules and the instructions given, something simple.

Overall the experience was smooth, but as you mentioned, your predisposition suggests you should look for more opportunities that are similar to what motivates you to perform.

The hostel had a comfortable setup and a good location, inside a condo, so it was quite safe; the staff were very helpful and friendly, but the host left a lot to be desired, when I arrived he didn't introduce himself and much less the hostel, he only spoke to me via WhatsApp and, in person, barely looked me in the face. We exchanged no more words than good morning/afternoon/evening since I gave no reason to be treated like that. After a mistake I made at work this got even worse. At least the guests lightened things up a bit and the space had easy entertainment options.

Thank you for the support, I learned to plaster walls, thanks for the tips, Mrs. Mara. And I spent a very good three-week stay. The place is calm and peaceful. I recommend volunteers download the BikNit app and take nice excursions along the Guanabara Bay waterfront, for free. Niterói has many beaches, museums, and interesting places.

The hostel is in a really nice place, close to everything and just a short distance from the boats that go to Rio.
The kitchen and the laundry area have everything we need, and the work isn't exhausting.
The arrangements were very clear, and the manager, Gabriel, was super flexible regarding the schedules. So we managed to agree on a routine that would be good for me and for the hostel.
I liked it a lot because this way I could work and explore the region :)
