Overall great experience! It allows you to meet different interesting people and stay in contact with nature. The food we prepared was very good, at each meal we always had different vegetarian options. You must be prepared mentally to stay in the jungle as there are many insects everywhere. We didn't have electric lights in our tent but we solved it with a few candles. The working hours are flexible, I prepared the food for the community 3-4 times a week and did some other tasks outside, like moving some wood stuff, cleaning etc..

The jungle conditions take some getting used to, but once you are used to it, it is an interesting experience. The cenote is beautiful. We had to cook and also clean the exteriors and the paths and clean up. That said, if you know the conditions of the toilets and showers and so on, and that we had no electricity in our tent, all in all it was fine and a different experience!

All in all it was a great experience. First it was a little bit hard for us to feel comfortable because there are many insects and other animals (of course it's the jungle). During our stay it wasn't high season so there weren't many people, so we were really happy that we worked there as a couple otherwise you may feel a little bit lonely. We had twice per day fresh cooked food which we enjoyed together and the whole area is super pretty!
