I loved my stay in El Remate! It's a tiny village near Flores, directly next to the lake in the midst of nature where there really is not much to do, so be prepared for some chill time and swimming in the lake. Ricardo is the nicest most relaxed host and the kids he's teaching English are the cutest!! I had so much fun helping to teach them! Muchísimas gracias por todo! :))

I loved my stay at the home, Ricardo is great. He helped me with everything I needed, it's perfect to chill outside of the city rush next to a lake. Work is also easy, every day we did 1 hours English class to the most amazing kids. I always felt like a part of the community because they were so amazing and fast learners. We danced, sing and learn English through different types of games. Ricardo was super chill and made this volunteering amazing experience!

Ricardo was an amazing host! I felt right at home here, the location is beautiful and perfect for someone who wants to stay closer to nature, right outside of Flores. It was truly a unique experience. I even helped teach English to the local kids which was one of my favorite things in the world. I met lots of locals, learned a lot of Spanish and made friends I will remember forever. :)

My experience with Ricardo was amazing! The schedule was not too fixed, it was easy to communicate with him and I could choose my days off as well. It was my first experience teaching French and I would totally do it again. The guest house is amazing especially the backyard with the view on the Lake. Overall I would recommend this volunteering to anyone who would like to experience the local life and get in touch with nature.

¡Excelente experiencia! El pueblo es hermoso, las tareas son simples. Richi y Lorea son muy buenos anfitriones, siempre muy amables y dispuestos a ayudarte en todo lo que puedan. El lugar es perfecto para conectar con la naturaleza y descansar de la agitada vida de ciudad. Si buscas conocer gente local en un entorno natural, este es el lugar indicado. Puedes visitar Tikal, los alrededores del pueblo e incluso la isla de Flores. Recomendado al 100%, volvería sin lugar a dudas. Muchas gracias por darme la oportunidad de voluntariar junto a ustedes 🥰 se ganaron un lugar en mi corazoncito.
