The Experience

Hello, we are a family living in southern Italy in the beautiful region of Puglia; in the countryside but not too far from the sea. We have a family inn business in the countryside of Cisternino for tourists. Looking for a person who can help in various activities; really interested in country life and learning different tasks such as: carpentry, wrought iron, to stay long periods.

My experience at Riposo del Vento was different from what I expected after 10 experiences (WP / WA). Juan was kind and helpful, and I had freedom to explore. However, some work rules arose during my stay, causing misunderstandings. The work is mainly outdoors under the sun. I also suffered a lot of bites (probably bed bugs), causing discomfort. I felt little integration into family life and was uncomfortable asking for some things. It may suit someone seeking independence, but it wasn't a good fit for me. I recommend rent a car: public transport is limited and bus stop is about 4 km away.

Getting to know Juan, his family, and his house was my favourite part of Italy. He is truly an inspiring person, a friend, a mentor, a great guitar player, full of skills and willingness to teach. I did so many different fulfilling tasks — taking care of horses, trimming and caring for olive trees, cooking, and so much more. He taught me so much about the culture, cuisine, and how to live a life that I could be proud of. This was my first experience, and I wouldn't change a thing. It felt like a home away from home. The work is simple, organized, and the hours were always respected. Thank you!

It was a very pleasant experience, throughout I felt a genuine interest in my well-being and my comfort, all the members of the family were very friendly, they opened the doors of their home for me in such a way that I always felt included. The tasks were varied and the working times were respected. I carry with me a thousand smiles, the memory of wonderful music and the warmth of a spectacular family.
