I had a great time volunteering for the hostel! I met amazing people, the staff was super nice, aswell as the volunteers and the work hours were short and fun. I will definitly miss the whole team. Its also easy to make friends with other travelers since there are a lot of people that stay multiple weeks here. I was volunteering for the hostel aswell as for Kloof street. Both hostels are amazing but very different in the vibe. the hostel is the bigger hostel with people at all time and Kloof street the smaller a little more personal and seasonal hostel. Thank you so much, lots of love!!

It has been a good time at the hostel. The work consists of around 25 hours per week. I really liked guiding the hikes twice a week. You will also help out at the tours, but normally only once during your stay since there are 8 volunteers in total (with the sister hostel). The bar shifts were not that exciting for me and felt a bit useless sometimes ;) The atmosphere in the bar is nice since you have a mix of locals and travellers. You have a small private room sharing a bunk bed with one other volunteer. Staff is nice and helpful. Special shout-out to Sandile, Orwell and Nellie
