The Experience

Hi, I'm Andrew (+ Anna - 19yrs, and Liam - 17yrs) We are a family of 3 living in the suburbs of Newcastle with a spare room just for you. We enjoy juggling, baking and swimming in our pool. We also like cycling, chilling out and traveling. We really need your help to renovate our house - it's a huge job but so rewarding! Want independence, interaction and fun (and maybe to learn some new renovation skills)? Then come and stay!

This was honestly the best volunteering experience I've ever had. From the beginning, Andrew, Anna and Liam made me feel like part of the family. I loved spending time together, especially cooking and sharing meals. The work was so much fun, and it was amazing to be part of the project and see it develop. I already missed them after just one day of leaving and will always remember this experience. I couldn't recommend it enough. ❤️

Andrew was a wonderful host. Hours and tasks were well defined, the work wasn't hard but it was challenging. I learned a lot and enjoyed my time. I recommend anyone who wants to learn about home remodeling volunteer here.

We had a really good time in Newcastle with Andrew. He is a great guy and a very patient and supportive supervisor, and we quickly felt like part of the family. The work was fair and flexible, the communication about the tasks was clear and we really appreciated the good food (also vegetarian for us) and the comfortable homestay. Andrew also gave us great recommendations, and it was always fun to do quizzes with him in some evenings. Overall, it was a really positive experience and we would definitely recommend staying with him.

I absolutely loved this place. Andrew, Anna and Liam were really sweet and welcoming. If you want a place with lots of freedom this is the place. Andrew let us do pretty much what we wanted as long as we worked the hours we needed to. You could change the working days as much as you liked, which made it possible to enjoy the warmer days more. There is not a lot to do in Newcastle but it's still a great place to go, if you want the quiet suburbs. There's a lot of beaches in the area and a bunch of nice cafés. Thank you for a lovely time. I'm gonna miss this place.

Diego and I spent almost two weeks at Andrew's house and it was a great experience. The working and resting hours were as agreed and the tasks varied, depending on the needs at each day. It was very nice spending time with him and his kids, cooking together, having dinner, playing games, getting warm by the fireplace, chatting and getting to know more about the Australian culture. We are very thankful for sharing these moments with them!
