The Experience

Founded in 1990 by the artist Jonathan Robinson, the Moulin Bregeon has been a bastion against the destruction of beauty in France. You won't find ugly pvc windows, nor shiny Ikea here. In the summer months we have several vegetable and flower gardens that need care, in the winter we work on improvements and care on the extensive properties. Meals and a comfortable room are provided, along with visits to local brocantes and chateaux

The guest house and Village community warmly welcomed us. We'll miss the camaraderie, especially the delightful dinners and free tours to Saumur and Angers. The work hours were flexible but somewhat unstructured, yet our needs were respected. The rural setting is ideal for a peaceful nature retreat, but having your own car is advisable due to the remote location. Overall, we recommend this host for those seeking a connection with locals and nature, especially if it's your first Worldpackers experience. Grateful for the memories, we'll miss everyone! 🙏

Everyone at the guest house was welcoming. The hours of work we agreed on were always respected; yet maybe a bit unstructured. During rainy days we never had to work outside and our needs were always respected. We had some free tours to Saumur and Angers. the guest house is rural and perfect for a quiet stay in nature, but we would recommend going there with your own car because everything is very far away. We would recommend this host to everyone who wants to connect with locals and nature. We will miss everyone and are very grateful for our time 🙏

My stay at the guest house was great. Jonathan was a great host and it was so nice getting to know the other locals. The work hours varied a lot but the work was pretty minimal. It's fairly secluded and surrounded by beautiful fields and woods. The local community is great and full of people from many different places. The food was great, I really loved Pascal's and Bernard's cooking. We ate a lot of meals together and Jonathan also made sure I always had enough food and all my needs were taken care of. I had a wonderful time here and would recommend it to anyone visiting this area.

My friend and I went here for our second Worldpackers experience and were a bit shocked at first. Coming from a clear structure to the mill where our hours were very flexible and the work tasks quite loosely structured, it took some time to adapt. Nonetheless, we had lovely company with Pascal at the mill, Bernhard coming by from time to time and seeing Jonathan and others in the "village".(These three all gay and around the age of 65😄) The work consisted of organising the attic, cubbords of lovely linnen and doing the garden. For the two weeks we only had short term work. Expect some chaos;)

My friend and I spent 13 days there. The mill is a very nice place and all the people there are very friendly, we felt very comfortable. The only thing that bothered us was the lack of communication in advance about Worldpackers. In addition, the working hours and tasks were unstructured and not communicated clearly, which meant we often didn't know what to do. Nevertheless, it was a very nice experience that I can recommend to everyone.
