Definitely a good time to detox from the city life, and good time connecting with nature out in the countryside of Big Island near all the pretty tropical forests and waterfalls. Just be prepared for lots of rooster noise near the sleeping area + bugs! I think the workload of 20 hours a week was pretty fair. The work mostly consists of cleaning and resetting their beautiful Airbnb's, as well as laundry. Having spent a good amount of time here as the only volunteer, I connected well with Sidra and her family. I was welcomed to join them for dinners etc. in case I ever felt lonely!

The farm Sunrise Farm is a beautiful place to be. I had a wonderful experience with Sidra and her amazing family. The property is like no other, with a panoramic view of the ocean you really can't beat it. The work was very fair and flexible. As long as you're communicating openly with Sidra, you'll have the best experience. She will make you feel so welcomed, you'll never want to leave. I learned so much about sustainability with the rainwater catchment and solar powered systems that the farm runs off of. I am inspired to incorporate sustainability into my everyday life after this experience!
