The Experience

Hi guys!! We would be glad to have you at our English Center, students are more than happy to practice their speaking skills with foreigners, You just have to come and talk to them, share your knowledge, hobbies, culture and learn from our culture as well. We have kids from ages 5 up to teens and adults. Working groups are small so it can be a real significant time to get to know each other. In your free time you have lots of fun things to do.

I had a great time at the school. Vero and her family were so nice and welcoming. Working with the kids was also a lot of fun and a great new experience. I didn't have any similar experience of working with kids or teaching before so it was a bit of a challenge at first but I believe it worked out quite well. The apartment was also very nice and well equipped with loads of shops and restaurants nearby. I can definitely recommend this experience to anyone (also if you don't really speak Spanish - like me).

A very nice and welcoming environment to teach English. Veronica and her family working at the school were very friendly and encouraging during my short stay there. Great little apartment with basics you need, and Paul was very attentive with issues that came up with the house and even brought me food when I was sick while they gave me a day off. As far as teaching, sometimes expectations for you and how things operated I wished were more communicated. You actually teach 20hrs and more time preparing for classes. But the kids were great and the tasks really weren't so difficult! Recommended

WOW!! This experience was wonderful! Veronica and her lovely family welcomed me with open arms, gave me a comfortable flat and made me feel like their family in seconds. Their language center is so well managed and I got to work with such an amazing bunch of kids and teenagers. I was challenged to come up with games and fun topics to have conversations about during the classes and Veronica was supportive all the way through. The hours were amazing and they adapted the hours to my plans outside of volunteering. I highly recommend it, lots of fun! Thanks for making my time there so great! Love/B

I had a great time with the school's team and students! It was a pleasure to build a friendship with Vero, Rocio, Patricio y toda la familia the school! The children and teenagers were very pleasant to be around and teach. The apartment offered to volunteers is just a block away from the school and offers all one might need for its stay (also very close to supermarkets, pharmacy and restaurants). For anyone looking to spend one or two weeks teaching English before or after the Quilotoa Loop or other treks, a must!
