The hostel is centrally located and provides a welcoming space to meet travelers from around the world, practice Spanish/English, enjoy in-house programming and excursions, and enjoy multiple common spaces alone or with other guests. The facilities are very clean, and the breakfast was tasty and satisfying. I loved being part of the volunteer team! I worked directly with Mariam (co-owner), who has great creative and operational vision for the space and is very clear about volunteer expectations. the hostel practices sustainability through recycling and composting. hope to return someday soon!

My experience in the hostel just felt like home! Mariam and AK are two lovely hosts that try everyday to make a second house for travelers better and better. Not only they're always happy to help with suggestions, they're also open to listen, especially if you are propositive with new opportunities and activities. I loved the vibe of the hostel and the volunteers, we became a big family from all over the world. Thanks to this I was able to enjoy San Cristobal just as I can do with my friends back home, sharing activities, knowledge and culture, but, most important, perspectives!

I absolutely loved staying at the hostel. It was my first volunteering experience, and it truly exceeded all my expectations. From the beginning, the place felt so warm and welcoming, like if I have been there already. I met amazing people who now feel like family, and leaving was honestly heartbreaking for me. I'm deeply grateful for all the moments I spent there, the friendships I made, and the feeling of home that the hostel gave me. It is a very special place, and I will always remember it with so much love.

My first experience volunteering at a hostel and so it was at the hostel with Mariam and AK! Super organized, clear expectations, and receptive to my ideas and feedback. It was a learning curve to get a handle on all the tasks and procedures. But they were patient with me and felt I could grow through any mistakes. Proud that I got to develop a plant-based pancake recipe for their breakfast menu. And when I had a family emergency, they were very understanding and supportive. Made some great memories and friends at the hostel. Also a great homebase to explore San Cristóbal and Chiapas. Thank you!
